Vendor Profiles - Platform Update

We are in the process of overhauling our platform and are excited to share the updates we’ve already made, as well as the new features we’ve implemented.

With uncertainty rising around the world and remote working becoming the new normal, we are seeing a heightened interest in data & software solutions within the private equity ecosystem.

That’s why our main goal was to make our platform extremely easy to navigate from all angles, offering both granular and high level information– whether you want to find a very specific solution or just want to learn more about the space.

OVERVIEW

First off, we have updated our database overview to make it more user-friendly. You can now easily see and search by:

  • Product Types Offered → SaaS, Data, and Marketplace

  • Functions Served → Front, Middle, and Back Office

  • Clients Focus → LP and GP

  • Features → CRM, Relationship Intelligence, RMS, VDR etc.

By showing high-level information such as product types offered, functions served and client focus, we made our platform much easier to navigate on your own, offering a quick way to learn more about the space.

A sovereign wealth fund might want to learn about all the Back Office solutions that only specialize in serving LPs.

By selecting “Back Office” on Function Served and “LP” on Client Focus, the LP can navigate through the entire “Back Office Solutions for Asset Allocators” ecosystem with two clicks.
 

FEATURES & USE CASES

We have updated the vendor profiles themselves and added new classifications. First, we’ve updated the “Features”, offering more granular level information than before. As an example, we have separated “Market Data” into 10 distinct features, such as “Company Data”, “LP Data” and “Performance Benchmarks”.

Moreover, we’ve added a new categorization method called “Use Cases”. This category identifies 6 different use cases: Deal Sourcing, Fundraising, Portfolio Monitoring, Investor Relations/Reporting, Back Office. We believe that this new classification will make it easier for LPs and GPs to identify vendors relevant to their needs.

By selecting “LP Data” & “Fund Performance” on Features and “Fundraising” on Use Cases, the GP can easily find the solutions they need.
 

INTEGRATION PARTNERS

That’s not all! We’ve been in contact with many LPs and GPs, and an important trend we’ve noticed that drives adoption is the integration partners. To ensure a smooth transition process, we’ve added a brand new capability on our platform, showing both specialized and generic solutions that each vendor natively integrates with!

The GP can easily search for Relationship Intelligence tools that integrate with both their generic (like Mailchimp) and specialized solutions (CRM vendor).
 

CLIENTS

Many professionals searching for solutions like to know what their peers are using, so we’ve worked hard to upgrade our client database, and now you can see which clients each vendor serves, split bySize”, “Type” and “Asset Class”.

A multi-asset allocator wishes to better understand which platforms are servicing clients which are of a similar size to them.

The LP can now see real clients that each vendor serves, split by size, type and asset class on each vendor profile. In addition, users can search for clients by type, size and asset class focus.

Since many of these solutions are high-cost / high-value, we have found that brand recognition and trust are driving factors in adoption. Word-of-mouth is especially helpful in making these decisions.

A GP might be interested in a CRM solution, but doesn’t entirely trust online testimonials or the sales teams’ pitches.

She can easily search up her close peers, see what they are using, and call them up to get honest feedback.

We are not only a database, but also advisers and thought leaders. That’s why we think it’s really important for our users to be able to easily access our relevant research on the vendor’s profile. This way, in addition to the high-quality data we have, users will be able to get much deeper insights on vendors, leading to a well-informed decision making process.

We have added so much information, it needs to be easily navigable to actually be useful. So we revamped our advanced search function completely. Now you can easily search by every single categorization we’ve mentioned above, or mix them up! As general or specific you want to be, we’re here to help you.
